With great pleasure, I present to you the April to June issue of 2015. I sincerely acknowledge the untiring efforts of all the authors, reviewers, advisors and editorial board members in bringing out this issue in time.
We all know that the field of pathology is rapidly moving from morphology to molecular diagnosis, still the importance of good morphological assessment can't be underestimated. It still acts as first step to good final diagnosis and, therefore, the pathologists need to be aware of technical factors that may affect the interpretation, especially in small endoscopic biopsies. In their review article Das et al. have given an algorithm for the diagnostic approach of biopsies from the small intestine that is one of the common sites of the gastrointestinal tract, subjected to frequent infections and endoscopic biopsies.
In the present era of targeted therapy, it has become imperative to study the changes at genetic and molecular level to identify the specific targets for selected therapy. The articles by Dewan et al., Sen et al., Uppin et al. and Biswas et al. in this issue are aimed at identifying such markers in various epithelial malignancies and sarcomatous lesions. Singh et al. have tried to find out the correlation between the JAK2V617F mutational status and the clinico-hematologic characteristics, as well as the International Prognostic Scoring System scoring of patients with PIMF.
In last few issues, we have added new columns like quiz, clinico-pathological conference, book reviews and a tribute to our senior members. All the authors and senior members are requested to contribute to these columns. The pattern of writing can be according to instructions and published articles in the journal.
In the end, I can't forget to remind you about the issues of ethics, plagiarism and following the instructions of the journal while preparing a manuscript.
