[TAG:2]Post Lactational Mammary Gland Regression [1],[2][/TAG:2]

Breast tissue with a dilated duct containing secretions can be seen. On top left is a lobule which shows lactational changes. The dilated back to back glands show apocrine secretion. The other two lobules in the picture show atrophic involutional changes.

Post lactational regression is a finely co-ordinated process involving activation of many genes. Uneven involution can sometimes result in nodularity.
