Figure 2 :Photomicrograph shows colonies of Acti nomyces species in background of dense organizing infl ammati on rich in plasma cells (Figure 2a, H and E x 40). Higher power photomicrograph of the colony shows radially oriented thin fi lamented bacillus, with surrounding splendore -hoeppli reacti on (Figure 2b, H and E x 200). The fi lamentous bacilli are stained with Gram’s (Figure 2c, Gram’s stain x 200) and Silver methinamine stain (Figure 2d, Silver methinamine stain x 200).
